Kopperl is a unincorporated town located in Bosque county not far from Lake Whitney. The town had access to all 3 major railroads when they were running (Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway ). As of 1990 the town had 225 residents.
While researching the town we found some information on a meteorological event known to the locals as "Satan's Storm". Unknown at the time the town was in the middle of a Heat Burst caused by a dying thunderstorm without rain or moisture. Winds were in excess of 75mph and the temperature rose to 140F causing crops to cook stalk.
