Iredell, Texas in Bosque County. Population was 339 at the 2010 census. Home of the Dragons and a great town! There was once three gins and a railroad, but when the cotton market dropped, the railroad left the area.

Our family had a farm off of Hwy 6 where we would go on weekends and spend summers. We would always stop at Mr. McCoy’s service station and get Chocostix while he and my dad would catch up on the local news. Later in his years, Mr. McCoy opened his second location in downtown to be closer to his family (sometime in the late 1970’s).

We had many local friends, some of which still live in the area today (shout out to the Gillentine family)! Currently, Linda Gillentine is working on restoring a couple of the buildings in downtown - Be sure and stop by next time you're in town!

My sister reminded me of our mother taking us to an old grain silo to play while she would paint landscapes - must be where I got my love of old buildings.

Around 1990, our Grand Parents (Randy & Hazel Foster) sold the farm and until lately we hadn’t been back.

Special thanks to Mike Gillentine, Linda Gillentine, Dale Nelson and DeeAnna Nelson Price for a great day.
